Welcome Message

Welcome to the Office of the Dean of Students at Mathira Technical & Vocational College. Our primary mandate is to facilitate student growth, promote healthy student engagement, and coordinate comprehensive support networks. We coordinate co-curricular activities, guidance services, accommodation placement, financial aid programs, and student leadership governance to foster a supportive learning environment.

Trainee Welfare & Guidance

The Office of the Dean coordinates support systems to ensure student success and welfare. We provide services that help trainees resolve personal, academic, and social difficulties.

Accommodation Guidance

Assistance in finding secure and affordable off-campus hostels and housing facilities near Karatina Town that align with college safety policies.

Guidance & Counseling

A professional counseling desk offering confidential counseling, mental wellness workshops, drug awareness programs, and career placement mentorship.

Health Services

Collaboration with local health centers to provide immediate first aid care, health checkups, and wellness talks for trainees.

Sports and Co-curricular Activities

MTVC believes in a balanced approach to student development. We promote physical health, discipline, team spirit, and competitive talent through active participation in regional and national TVET championships (KATTI games).

Ball Games

Men's and women's volleyball, football, basketball, and handball teams training regularly on campus fields.

Athletics

Track and field sports, including sprints, middle-distance events, relays, and field athletics competitions.

Drama & Music

Vibrant drama, poetry, and traditional dance ensembles participating in regional and national TVET Music Festivals.

Indoor Games

Chess, table tennis, darts, and scrabble clubs for building strategic thinking and coordination.

Registered Clubs and Societies

Joining a club or society allows students to network with peers, expand their technical skills, and participate in community service. The Dean's office registers and guides all clubs:

ICT & Tech Innovations Club

Focuses on coding bootcamps, hardware hackathons, and software projects to support student prototype development.

Christian Union (CU) & YCS

Nurturing spiritual growth, leadership values, and social welfare programs among Christian students.

Muslim Students Association (MSA)

Coordinating worship schedules, charity programs, and unity initiatives within the campus community.

Environmental & Scouts Club

Coordinating tree planting exercises, campus recycling, community cleanups, and team-building exercises.

Student Financial Aid & Support

We work closely with the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) and local constituencies to facilitate funding. Our office supports students throughout their application processes:

HELB TVET Funding

Guidance and validation of application forms for national scholarships and loans allocated under the Higher Education Funding model.

CDF & County Bursaries

Verification of enrollment documents to support students applying for constituency (NG-CDF) and county bursary programs.

Special Disability Support

Tailored physical accessibility coordinates, specialized learning assistance, and special bursary options for students with special needs.
